If you have used Windows 8, you know that it comes with two versions of Skype, one for desktop and one for tablets, and some users prefer one over the other, however it seems that tablet version of Skype no longer works. Sorry to say, but this isn’t a bug or something like that, Microsoft has actually decided to remove the tablet version from from Windows 10. According to Microsoft they want to have single Skype app that is optimized for both mouse and keyboard as well as touch input. This is all part of Microsoft’s philosophy that you have the same apps across all of your devices such as desktops, tablets, phones and laptops. Some people might not be too happy about this decision, but this way it will be easier and simpler to work on Skype and release updates for all versions of Skype across all platforms. Before Microsoft’s developers had to work separately on two different versions and that slowed down the development cycle. With this approach we expect to see updates for Skype more frequently. So what can you do if you want tablet version of Skype on Windows 10? You can download the latest desktop version! Many users aren’t happy with this solution, because they are so used to tablet version of Skype, but Microsoft’s developers have confirmed that there will be no tablet version of Skype on Windows 10, and we hate to admit it, but it seems that you’re forced to switch to desktop version of Skype on Windows 10. And if you’re not happy with the desktop version of Skype, don’t worry, since developers are working only on one version of Skype for all platforms, therefore we expect to see improvements and patches more frequently. If you have any other Windows 10-related issues you can check for the solution in our Windows 10 Fix section. Read Also: Fix: Unable to Upgrade From Windows 7 to Windows 10
